I loved their reasoning so much, I’ll let them do the talking:
Said Artistic Director, Jennifer Uphoff Gray, “we are particularly interested in the George W. Bush story in this production because of the way it depicts our inability as Americans to communicate across a partisan divide. One of the messages of “44 Plays for 44 Presidents” that particularly resonates for us is the idea that our political leaders are all human and fallible — perhaps, as we enter another frenzied election season, remembering that will help us remember the role we each need to play in the functioning of our democracy. No president can truly succeed without our help.”
