44 productions of 44 Plays for 44 Presidents in 2012.

44 Plays for 44 Presidents is a play, first produced by The Neo-Futurists of Chicago in 2002.

Our mission is to inspire 44 separate productions of 44 Plays for 44 Presidents across the country in the months leading up to the 2012 Presidential Election.

As part of our focus to connect all the 2012 productions, we will also unveil an online composite video production of 44 Plays for 44 Presidents made up of contributions from all 44 productions.

We hope the Festival will evolve beyond this to include other contributions in the spirit of 44 Plays for 44 Presidents–artistic as well as educational–that we will highlight and share. And we will encourage collaboration and communication between producing entities.

We invite theaters of all sizes as well as schools and universities to join the Festival. The first 44 productions to join are welcome to take part in the composite, video production. But this is only the first in what we hope will be a a series of collaborative projects we might spawn as we build our network of 2012 productions.
